With the fold of an ear, the rabbit becomes a pendant....
A pendant made from high resolution 3d printed wax and lost wax casting, hand polished to a smooth finish. Measures 1.1 cm wide, 2.8 cm tall. Features a 1.8 mm opening.
Sometimes, things are exactly what they seem. No playful story here… I really just made a simple rabbit. But when a friend or a stranger spots the little bunny hanging down your neck (which they will) you'll just have to see where the conversation goes. A pendant is an expression of yourself — the rabbit is your blank canvas.
Although the rabbit pendant is straightforward, this was carefully designed with four objectives in mind: (1) The rabbit sits perfectly on a flat surface, giving it an object feel in addition to being a pendant. When you lean over a table, the rabbit sits down. (2) The rabbit hangs perfectly. The center of mass was scripted using computer algorithms to stand upright in the air. (3) The rabbit is interacting with something beyond, to provide the possibility of storytelling. (4) The rabbit is held to the necklace with no loop — this was achieved by bending the ear to create a small opening. I find that adding a loop is a last resort design option because a loop adds an unrelated element to the design. The rabbits were meticulously crafted using digital sculpting and handmade sketches.
